Our Vancouver Team

Katherine Umayam, RMT

Born and raised in Victoria, Katherine is a spiritualistic versatile renaissance person. Her education consists of a biology degree from the University of Victoria, black belt in kenpo, certification from the Victoria Conservatory School of Music, diploma from Utopia Academy of Massage Therapy and Hydrotherapy (now known as Vancouver College of Massage Therapy), and certification of bodywork and massage from Vancouver School of Bodywork and Massage (acquiring the knowledge and skills of reflexology, shiatsu, aromatherapy and other modalities).

Katherine believes in treating the body (as in physical, spiritual, and mind) as a whole and will do her best to meet your healing needs within her scope of practice. When she has the time, she enjoys listening to your stories and believes that humour ( at the right moment) is the best form of medicine.

Outside the clinic, you may find Katherine teaching reflexology and hydrotherapy at the Canadian College of Shiatsu Therapy, expanding her knowledge and skills in massage, or having her down time discovering the marvelous wonders of the world!

“I am a teller of stories, a weaver of dreams, I can dance, sing, and in the right weather, I can stand on my head. I know seven words of Latin, I have a little magic, and a trick or two. I know the proper way to meet a dragon, I can fight dirty but not fair, I once swallowed thirty oysters in a minute. I am not domestic, I am luxury, and in that sense, necessary” ~Jim Henson’s The Storyteller.
